How to Set System Time on Alcorn McBride V4X/V16X Using Front Panel Wheel

Steps

  1. Access Front Panel
Locate the TFT display and navigation wheel on the V4X/V16X front panel. Ensure the device is on, showing the status screen (time, date, or show status).

  2. Enter Main Menu
Press the navigation wheel inward to open the main menu on the TFT display.

  3. Select Clock Menu
Rotate the wheel to highlight “Real-Time Clock” (or “Clock”). Press inward to enter the Clock Menu, showing options like “Time,” “Date,” and “RTC Config.”

  4. Enter RTC Config
Rotate the wheel to select “RTC Config” and press inward. Editable fields for time (HH:MM:SS, 24-hour format) and date (MM/DD/YYYY) appear.

  5. Set Time and Date
Rotate the wheel to adjust the highlighted field (e.g., hours). Press inward to confirm and move to the next field. Repeat for minutes, seconds, month, day, and year.

  6. Save Changes

After setting all fields, press the wheel to navigate back to save changes automatically. Verify the updated time/date on the display.

  7. Exit Menu
Rotate to “Exit” or press the wheel to return to the status screen. Confirm the correct time/date is displayed.

Notes

  • Time Sync: External sync (e.g., NTP) may override manual settings. Disable via the “Network” or “Clock” menu if needed (see manual, section 3.2).

  • Troubleshooting: If the panel is locked, hold the wheel to stop scripts (manual, section 3.2.3). Contact Alcorn McBride support if the time doesn’t save.

  • Alternative: Use WinScript Live over Ethernet for advanced settings.

  • Time Estimate: ~1 minute once familiar.
